The BBC have announced new mobile channels support across its iPlayer service for the Samsung Omnia and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 with support for the Sony Ericsson C905.

The BBC iPlayer allows internet users to stream recent BBC television shows and news. Support for the Apple iPhone Nokia will also continue along with the addition of support for the Nokia N85.
Jon Billings, head of technology for mobile for the BBC, says of the decision to offer the platform to Omnia, Xperia and C905 owners:
“These phones have been selected as they hit our requirements of Wi-Fi and 3G support with great browsing and media playback experience (i.e. the video and audio look and sound good), and it’s also great to broaden our platform support out to Windows Mobile as well as our first feature phone offering on the C905″.
